1) How does Billy's mama show her affection for him?
Billy's mother shows affection by how much she cares about Billy. Like when Billy was trying to catch the coon, his mother was very worried and send Billy's father to see if Billy would be fine. When Billy was hunting for coons and had no food, Billy's mom told the grandfather to tell him that she made food for him and is waiting for him back at home. Billy’s mom shows Billy affection by how much she cares for him. For example, every time Billy goes out to hunt, she would always make sure he was ok. Also, she was super overprotective of Billy. At the beginning of the book, she wouldn’t even let Billy go out to hunt. Moreover, Billy’s mother was not for the idea of buying the hounds in the first place. 1) How does Billy's mama show her affection for him?
I think that Billy's mother is showing affection by caring and being overprotective whenever he goes hunting, and always trying to educate him. When a person is being overprotective of someone, it is natural because they love, or really want them to be safe. Hunting is often very dangerous and that is why she opposes it so much. She also wants Billy to have good education in case things don't go right which is natural of her to do if she truly cares. Even if it doesn't look like she cares, she always has the best intentions for her child. 6) What is the role of religion in the novel? The ro…

The dogs are so similar to humans. Old Dan is more of a brave type and is adventurous and strong. Little Ann isn’t like Old Dan but she is very smart. They fought for him to save his life at the end. That shows how caring they are to Billy and the bond and friendship they had when they were alive together. Those dogs are truly special. They weren’t just dogs in the book.
